Donors Choose Update
My readers continue to help change lives, thanks to participating in the Three Words Back Challenge set up through Donors Choose.
The following are excerpts from emails I have received from teachers whose classrooms have been directly impacted:
Dear Mr. Brown,I am at a loss for words at this moment! This could not have come at a more fortuitous time...I cannot wait to get started! This is truly an educational gift that we appreciate more than words can express. Thank you in advance and with much apprecation.
Dear Mr. Brown,
Thank you for the podcasting microphones...we will send you the link when they are published online.
Dear Mr. Brown,
Thank you for funding this project. Now my students have the opportunity to become active learners. They will be able to acquire reading and writing skills that will make them life long learners. It will be a pleasure watching them acquire their new found skills. Thank you for the opportunity you have afforded them through your kindness and generosity.
So far you have directly impacted the education of 876 students spread across 15 schools, which is FREAKIN' AWESOME if you ask me. As a whole, you can see to the right that we are currently a little past halfway to our goal. If the warm, fuzzy feeling of doing something awesome isn't enough to motivate you to donate a few dollars (seriously, even $5 or $10 would be great...), let me remind you that there are prizes up for the winning, including:
- a signed Counting Crows / John Mayer concert poster from their 2003 co-headling tour.
- one of FOUR different prize packs
- my promise to post several embarassing childhood photos on this very blog.
So see, it's a win-win for everyone.
Except me, because I'd like to keep the poster for myself, as well as pretend that pictures of myself from ages 13 to 20 do not exist.
Will one of those pictures include you in your overalls from our freshman year? LOL.

Unfortunately, I don't think I have any pictures of the overalls. I'll check when I go home...those would be fun to post.
