"For last year's words belong to last year's language. And next year's words await another voice. And to make an end is to make a beginning." ~ T. S. Eliot
It's an end, it's a beginning, it's business as usual. My time on the bank travel team is coming to an end over. No more hotels, no more little hand soaps, no more continental breakfasts to skip four days a week. I'm taking a branch manager position at a branch in Houston. And for some reason, the bank thinks I should get my own place to live. On my own dime, if you can imagine that. So I found a great apartment that's very close to work. I moved in Saturday - Happy New Year's week to me. And I've already spent quite a few of my dimes to get it furnished and decorated...bought a new bed today, and I'm going to The Room Store tomorrow to get the bedroom suite I found online. Good times....I am SO EXCITED to be back in Texas! Plus a lot of my bank traveling friends are here now, too, which makes moving to a new city a lot more fun.
I am officially running in the Austin Marathon. Well, the half-marathon. That's 13.1 miles of fun agony that I signed up for. And now that I've paid the entry fee, reserved a hotel room, and told everyone all about it, I guess I can't back out of it now. In 47 days, I will be hating life for several hours. For some reason I haven't been asked (yet!) to recruit other potential runners to the event. Go figure.
Hmm...thought I had more than two paragraphs of updates, but now I can't think of anything else. Plus my battery is dying and this Barnes& Noble doesn't have a power source handy.
Your apartment is pretty rad. Maybe someday I'll see it with electricity, but the flashlight tour was awesome.
